Here is the first demilune shelf showing the MDF substrate and the cut/glued satinwood prior to ironing to MDF.

Here are both demilune shelves. One completed to the laquer stage, the other still needs the zebrawood

border applied. The golden oak stain really stands out as compared to the unstained one on the left. Next I have to do the aprons for both shelves. This time I will do them in zebrawood instead of the satinwood.
Here are both sides finished with laquer applied. Aprons go on next.
